Friday Favourites | Top Six Winter Nail Varnishes

Hey.
So over the winter I have been loving my dark reds and berry shades as well as some sparkly festive glitter.  This applies to my nails especially. For this post I have chosen my 6 favourite nail varnishes for this winter, I have tried to choose a variety of different shades to show you guys.

First up are my beloved berry shades. Just look at them... Beautiful!
I absolutely love Essie nail varnishes, they last for an age without chipping, and come in a massive range of colours. They are around £7.99 from boots, however, I think they are worth spending that little bit more, and they come in a good sized bottle. The colours that I have been loving are Angora Cardi which I think will also be nice for the Summer, and Fishnet Stockings, which you could wear all year around. This is my staple red nail varnish, and I have done a review in my recent 'Manicure Monday' post.
I have also been loving two shades from Topshops Matte Nails collection. The shade Dress Up above, and Light Drizzle in the photograph below. They are both gorgeous, dark colours which I have been loving this season.  I used to think that grey nail varnish was boring, but it actually looks lovely on your nails and really stands out. While I love these colours, I must say that I wasn't really impressed I with the formula of these polishes! I love my matte lipsticks and polishes at the moment, so was excited to try these. The polish does last a long time, however, it does not stay matte. The matte layer on top just rubs off within a couple of hours. I was pretty disappointed to say the least. But none the less I still love the colours and will continue to wear them. I think these were £6 from Topshop. Not really worth the extra pound for a matte finish when you could get one of their normal varnishes for £5.

Now of course I had to involve a glitter polish in this post! This one I have reached for numerous times and it is Stunning from Revlon. I actually got this for free before Christmas because I spent over a certain amount on Revlon products. I love this polish, and it is surprising easy to get off considering that it is a glitter polish. I look forward to next winter when I will start wearing this again!
Last but not least I am loving this lovely deep green/blue colour from Gold by Giles, a collection which you can find in New Look. This cost me a pound which is an absolute bargain. I will not go into detail about this varnish, because I have already reviewed it, here

What colours have you been loving during the winter season?

Friday Favourites | Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms

Hey.
This is going to be a quick post, it was scheduled in for last Fridays 'Friday Favourites' , however, I was too busy to write it. So I thought I would post it today so that you have a post for every week day this week. You will still have my 'Friday Favourites' post for this week tomorrow.

Now a few weeks ago, I briefly mentioned these in a beauty haul post. Since then I have been wearing them nearly every day. I absolutely love them. Now that probably won't come as a surprise because I have already raved about the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm stains in a previous post, and they are all pretty much the same, these just being the Matte Version.

These are extremely last longing, they don't last as long as the Just Bitten Stains, however, one application can last me 4 hours at work, which is pretty good. They also last while you are eating too, which many lip products would not. I thought that because they are a Matte product they would naturally be a bit drying, but these actually moisturise my lips slightly. They are like creamy lip balms but with a Matte finish , it is weird.  The fact that they are not drying did shock me a little bit. But it is fantastic.

These balms are also extremely pigmented, which you can see in my swatches at the end of this post. The product just glides so easily onto your lips. I think that the way that the product is shaped and packaged, makes it a lot easier to apply, I could honestly apply these with my eyes closed. While as with matte lipsticks I will mess up numerous times before I am happy with how it looks.

The  only downside that I can see with these, is the choice, hopefully this will better with time, because they are relevantly new. I think there are only 7-8 colours to choose from, they are all beautiful colours, and they have a colour for everyone. However, I personally would like more choice. Apart from that well done Revlon, you have done it again!

I know that Revlon have brought out a few different finishes in this range so I am tempted to try some more, if anyone has then please comment and let me known what you think?

Crazy about Necklaces | Haul

Helloooo.
So i have a slight obsession with necklaces, i just seem to love every single necklace that i see in the stores at the moment. I think that every outfit should contain a necklace to finish it off, i feel bare when i am not wearing them. I have a ridiculous amount of necklaces, i will admit, however, i obviously don't think i have enough. Here are a few necklaces that i have bought in the past few weeks from New Look and Primark. As you all will know from my clothes haul post, i love everything to do with New Look.

Enjoy! :)

First up, is a beautiful rose detailed necklace from New Look, this is from Roam one of the collections within New Look and cost me £7. I thought that this would look nice with a plain black peplum top that i have and some denim jeans. As you will see, i am loving gold jewellery at the moment...

I don't think you can see properly from the picture, but this is 3D. Cool right? This necklace will add a bit of dimension  (no pun intended) to a plain, casual outfit, or even a plain black dress, which is what i intend to wear this with. This is also from New Look and cost me £5.99, bargain. You can buy this here.

This is my favourite necklace from this haul. I love the everything about it. I think this is very versatile, and besides bold patterns and prints you can wear this with pretty much anything. This is from New Look and cost me £5.99.

Again this is from New Look and cost me £7.99 and can be found here. I love my tribal prints during all seasons, and i think that i will definitely get my wear out of this one. I think this is a necklace to go with an outfit for a night out, to really finish off and dress up a look.

Moving away from my beloved New Look and onto Primark. I love the colour orange so was drawn to this instantly. I think i will struggle to find many outfits to go with this. But i think once the summer comes i will begin to wear this a lot! This was £4.

I have a leather Pandora bracelet in this champagne colour, and have been looking for a necklace to match it for ages! Then i spotted this in Primark, and got a little excited! Again i think this is very versatile, and i cant wait to wear it with my bracelet. This was also £4 :)

And there you have it. I hope you guys enjoyed this and spotted something that you like. If you have any suggestions on how i can style these then feel free to comment :)

Manicure Monday | Lady In Red

Hey!
I would like to apologise for my absence last week, it was a very busy week with uni. However, this week I am going to try and post the posts that I has scheduled for last week up this week. We shall see how that pans out :)

As you all know from my previous 'Manicure Monday' post, I got me some acrylic nails. I still have them and they are going strong! I got a little bored of the French Mani, so decided to paint them. The colour that I chose is a beautiful deep red, from Essie called Fishnet Stockings. I love the names that they give their polishes, so unique.

This polish is actually one of my favourite for this winter season, and I have worn it a few times in the last few months. Now Essie polishes are a little expensive, however, they do have an extensive range of colours, which are all incredible. You can also pick them up from Boots. Their polishes are extremely long lasting and chip resistant, I can keep the polish on for over a week before I feel that I need to change it.  This polish is extremely shiny, as you can see in the picture, and I haven't applied a top coat to it, as I feel that I don't need to. I just love it. I feel like my nails are looking good at the moment.

I have just bought some nail art brushes from Primark, so for next weeks 'Manicure Monday' I am going to attempt to do something more complicated :) we shall see how it turns out.

Are any of you guys loving your reds at the moment? I am loving my red lipsticks as well.

Naked 3 | Valentines Day Make Up Look.

Hey.
So today i am going to be doing a different kind of post. I am going to be talking about the products that i used to get the above look, focusing more on my eye make-up which i used the new Naked 3 palette to create! This palette contains the more rose toned neutrals, and i absolutely love it! This is a look that i have been wearing daily for a few weeks now, and is ideal for valentines day, so i thought i would share it with you guys, to give you a bit of inspiration.  Its a pink/brown smoky eye look.

So firstly on my face i used:
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in shades 1 and 2. ( I mix them both to create a perfect colour)
Benefits Erase Paste under my eyes.
Benefits Rockateur Blush.
Sleeks Contour kit.

On my eyebrows:
Benefits Brow Zings in Light.

On my Lashes:
Benefits They're Real mascara (Top)
Maybelline Great Lash mascara (Bottom)

Lips:
Rimmel Moisture renew lipstick in Dusty Rose.

I think that all of  the rosy colours that i have used really compliment this eye look.

And for my Eyes:

So the first colour that i used was Burnout. I used this all over my lid to create the base. I want this look to be quite wearable on a day to day basis, i therefore didn't want the colour to look too vibrant. However, if you do, you can always apply Strange my highlight colour all over the lid first, so that when you apply Burnout it will be more noticeable.

Once i had done that i applied Nooner to my crease, making sure that i only applied it to the outer half of my crease. Most people believe that a matte colour should be applied to the crease rather than a shimmer, however, i think that shimmers look just as good. But for this look i have chosen a matte shadow.

Next i took Factory, a beautiful dark brow shimmer eyeshadow and applied it to my outer V. I didn't want my make-up to be too bold. However, this is where you can play with your make up and keep adding layers of shadow until you are happy with the intensity of the make up. It is also very important here to keep blending the make up while you add layers, i used a clean brush to do this. You could also wing your eyeshadow out a little during this step, depending on what shape you want the shadow to be. I just followed my outer V and blended the shadow into my lid a little. I also used this underneath my bottom eyelashes, to make my eyes really stand out.

I then  used BlackHeart a black shadow with beautiful pink/purple glitter inside it. Probably my favourite shadow from this palette. I applied this to the outer corner of my eye and blended it up to my crease and half way along my top lash line, to create more of a smoky eye effect. I think that this finishes the look, and adds some extra definition. I love it. This really adds that smokiness to this pink and brown smoky eye look :)

And last but not least, i used Strange in the inner corner of my eye and as a brow highlight.

I hope you guys like this look. I absolutely love it. If you would like to see more make up looks then let me know :)
